This project is funded by the Government of Ontario through the EnAbling Change Program<\/a>, administered by the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility. The EnAbling Change Program supports projects that promote accessibility and inclusion in Ontario by increasing awareness and compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).<\/p>\r\n The views expressed in this resource are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the Government of Ontario.<\/p>\r\n\r\n This Pressbook is a free, open-access resource for learning about accessible and inclusive healthcare<\/strong>, centering the expertise of disabled, Deaf, and mad people<\/strong>. Developed in collaboration with researchers, educators, disability networks, and community members, it brings together curriculum and multimedia resources to support learning in classroom settings and independent study.<\/p>\r\n Many of the materials in this Pressbook were first piloted in Fall 2024 in the School of Disability Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University<\/strong>, where 51 students participated in lectures and facilitated community visits with disabled, Deaf, and mad people across the Greater Toronto Area. This resource includes recordings, interviews, and other multimedia content produced during that pilot.<\/p>\r\n Sections labeled From the Community<\/em> <\/span>feature audio and video clips created during the pilot course<\/strong>, highlighting reflections and insights shared by community hosts and other participants. In addition, the Pressbook concludes with a documentary and two podcasts<\/strong><\/a> developed with disabled, Deaf, and mad community members.
