You can provide them with the following open textbook review criteria to help guide their feedback:\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><strong>Comprehensiveness<\/strong> \u2013 The text covers all areas and ideas of the subject appropriately and\u00a0provides an effective index and\/or glossary.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Content Accuracy<\/strong> \u2013 Content, including diagrams and other supplementary material, is\u00a0accurate, error-free and unbiased.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Relevance\/Longevity<\/strong> \u2013 Content is up-to-date, but not in a way that will quickly make the text\u00a0obsolete within a short period of time. The text is written and\/or arranged in such a way\u00a0that necessary updates will be relatively easy and straightforward to implement.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Clarity<\/strong> \u2013 The text is written in lucid, accessible prose, and provides adequate context for any\u00a0jargon\/technical terminology used.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Consistency<\/strong> \u2013 The text is internally consistent in terms of terminology and framework.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Modularity<\/strong> \u2013 The text is easily and readily divisible into smaller reading sections that can be\u00a0assigned at different points within the course (i.e., enormous blocks of text without\u00a0subheadings should be avoided). The text should not be overly self-referential, and should\u00a0be easily reorganized and realigned with various subunits of a course without presenting\u00a0much disruption to the reader.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Organization\/Structure\/Flow<\/strong> \u2013 The topics in the text are presented in a logical, clear fashion.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Interface<\/strong> \u2013 The text is free of significant interface issues, including navigation problems,\u00a0distortion of images\/charts, and any other display features that may distract or confuse the\u00a0reader.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Grammatical Errors<\/strong> \u2013 The text contains no grammatical errors.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Cultural Relevance<\/strong> \u2013 The text is not culturally insensitive or offensive in any way.
