By creating textbooks that are built in harmony with Ryerson's values, we can give our students a truly unique educational experience. By making them open for use by anyone in the world, we can help further Ryerson's reputation as a global citizen.\r\n\r\n<strong>Ryerson University Open Textbook Initiative<\/strong>\r\n\r\nRyerson University is committed to providing affordable and accessible teaching materials to its community. To assist Ryerson community members in adopting, adapting, or creating open access educational resources,\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/library.ryerson.ca\/\">Ryerson University Library and Archives (RULA)<\/a>, in partnership with Ryerson's <a href=\"http:\/\/ryerson.ca\/lt\/\">Learning &amp; Teaching Office (LTO)<\/a>, has created the <em>Ryerson Open Textbook Authoring Guide<\/em>.\r\n\r\nThis guide provides readers with an introduction to\u00a0open access education, as well as instructions on how to adapt an already existing textbook or create an entirely new resource. Readers will also find production tips, instructions on using the Ryerson-hosted <a href=\"http:\/\/pressbooks.library.ryerson.ca\/\">Pressbooks platform<\/a>, accessibility and copyright guidance, and tips on the creation of ancillary materials.
