A new, small window will open. Add your name or alias. Then exit the passage by clicking the X on the top right-hand corner of the window.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Open the \u201c<strong>StoryTitle<\/strong>\u201d passage and add a title. Then exit.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Open the \u201c<strong>Start<\/strong>\u201d passage and create a title page for your story. Write the title and format appropriately (i.e., as a heading, using the HTML <strong>&lt;h1&gt;title &lt;\/h1&gt;<\/strong>).<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Use the drop-down menu at the top left-hand side of the storyboard screen and follow \u201c<strong>Build \u2014&gt; Test Play<\/strong>\u201d to see how the game looks in your browser.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Go back to your storyboard and the \u201c<strong>Start<\/strong>\u201d passage again.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Add a link to your title page that will start the narrative (i.e., <strong>[[start]], [[begin]], [[enter the room]]<\/strong> or <strong>[[login]]<\/strong>, depending on how you would like players to begin their immersive experience).<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Oh no! If you used<strong> [[start]]<\/strong>, there is an issue! We already have a passage titled \u201c<strong>Start<\/strong>\u201d so Twine won\u2019t make a new link. What do we do?\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>We can\u2019t have two passages with the same title\u2014but we don\u2019t want to have to limit which words we turn into links.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Use a <strong>|<\/strong> (vertical bar; shift + \\ on most standard keyboards) to separate the <strong>word or sentence you want visible to players<\/strong> from <strong>the name of the new passage<\/strong>. For example, you might write <strong>[[Start|start2]]<\/strong> or <strong>[[Start|opening scene]]<\/strong>. Remember, the more links we have and the longer the story is, the more confusing it can get, so having a numbering system can help the game designer keep track.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>When you go to exit the passage, Twine will ask you if you want to create the linked passage <strong>[[Start|start2]]<\/strong>. Select yes, and a new passage and link will be created.\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Clicked \u2018no\u2019? No problem! Right-click anywhere on the storyboard and create a new passage.
