At the start, the group is sitting in a circle. After a brief guided meditation to recall a challenging life event, the facilitator puts his\/her chair in the centre representing the unwanted negative feelings. One by one, each participant describes a bit about their own life event, get up, place their own chair representing their coping strategy around the centre chair, return to their original spot, and remain standing. Eventually, all participants will be standing in a circle around a cluster of chairs in the centre. The participants are guided to notice that none of the chairs representing coping strategies have eliminated the centre chair representing the unwanted feelings, and paradoxically, they may only add chaos and contribute to the imposing nature of the centre chair. The resulting pile of chairs in the centre forms the \u201cChair Sculpture of Suffering.\u201d After further debriefing, the participants retrieve their own chair and reseat themselves in a circle. They are guided to look at the single remaining chair representing unwanted negative feelings in the centre and become aware that this observational stance represents mindful acceptance of our feelings, without fused engagement or avoidance. In addition to learning about acceptance of negative thoughts or feelings, this can also be a powerful exercise to build group cohesion and decrease participants\u2019 judgment of themselves for failing to control or eliminate their negative thoughts or feelings.\r\n\u8fd9\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u56e2\u4f53\u7ec3\u4e60\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u8981\u5171\u540c\u6784\u5efa\u4e00\u4e2a\u5173\u4e8e\u5e94\u5bf9\u8d1f\u9762\u60c5\u7eea\u7684\u5b9e\u4f53\u9690\u55bb\u3002\u5728\u7ec3\u4e60\u5f00\u59cb\u540e,\u5c0f\u7ec4\u6210\u5458\u56f4\u5750\u6210\u4e00\u4e2a\u5706\u5708.\u5728\u4e00\u4e2a\u7b80\u77ed\u7684\u5bfc\u5f15\u51a5\u60f3,\u56de\u5fc6\u4eba\u751f\u4e2d\u4e00\u4e2a\u6709\u6311\u6218\u7684\u4e8b\u4ef6\u4e4b\u540e,\u5c0f\u7ec4\u5e26\u9886\u8005\u628a\u5979\/\u4ed6\u7684\u6905\u5b50\u653e\u5230\u4e2d\u95f4,\u8fd9\u4e2a\u6905\u5b50\u8c61\u5f81\u90a3\u4e9b\u5927\u5bb6\u4e0d\u60f3\u8981\u7684\u8d1f\u9762\u60c5\u7eea\u3002\u4e4b\u540e\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e00\u540d\u7ec4\u5458\u4e00\u4e2a\u63a5\u4e00\u4e2a\u5730\u7b80\u8ff0\u4ed6\u4eec\u81ea\u5df1\u90a3\u4e2a\u751f\u6d3b\u4e8b\u4ef6,\u7ad9\u8d77\u6765,\u628a\u4ed6\u4eec\u81ea\u5df1\u5750\u7740\u7684\uff0c\u4ee3\u8868\u4ed6\u4eec\u7684\u5e94\u5bf9\u7b56\u7565\u7684\u6905\u5b50\u653e\u5230\u4e2d\u95f4\u90a3\u628a\u6905\u5b50\u5468\u56f4,\u518d\u56de\u5230\u4ed6\u4eec\u539f\u6765\u7684\u4f4d\u7f6e,\u4fdd\u6301\u7ad9\u7acb\u3002\u6700\u7ec8,\u6240\u6709\u7684\u7ec4\u5458\u5c06\u4f1a\u7ad9\u6210\u4e00\u4e2a\u5706\u5708,\u56f4\u7740\u4e2d\u95f4\u7684\u4e00\u5806\u6905\u5b50. \u7ec4\u5458\u4eec\u4f1a\u88ab\u63d0\u9192\uff0c\u5176\u5b9e\u4efb\u4f55\u4ee3\u8868\u5e94\u5bf9\u7b56\u7565\u7684\u6905\u5b50\u90fd\u4e0d\u80fd\u6d88\u9664\u4e2d\u95f4\u90a3\u628a\u4ee3\u8868\u4e0d\u60f3\u8981\u7684\u611f\u53d7\u7684\u6905\u5b50\u3002\u76f8\u53cd\u5730,\u5b83\u4eec\u53ea\u4f1a\u589e\u52a0\u6df7\u4e71,\u4ee5\u53ca\u52a9\u957f\u4e2d\u95f4\u6905\u5b50\u7684\u6c14\u7130\u3002\u4e2d\u95f4\u90a3\u5806\u6905\u5b50\u7ec4\u6210\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u201c\u82e6\u96be\u6905\u5b50\u96d5\u5851\u201d\u3002\u8fdb\u4e00\u6b65\u5c0f\u7ed3\u4e4b\u540e,\u7ec4\u5458\u4eec\u8981\u62ff\u56de\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u6905\u5b50\u5e76\u5750\u6210\u5706\u5708\u3002\u4ed6\u4eec\u88ab\u6307\u5bfc\u53bb\u770b\u7740\u4e2d\u95f4\u90a3\u628a\u4ee3\u8868\u4e0d\u60f3\u8981\u7684\u611f\u53d7\u7684\u6905\u5b50, \u9886\u609f\u5230\u8fd9\u79cd\u89c2\u5bdf\u7684\u6001\u5ea6\u4ee3\u8868\u4e86\u5bf9\u6211\u4eec\u611f\u53d7\u7684\u6b63\u5ff5\u63a5\u53d7\uff0c\u4e0d\u53bb\u878d\u5408\u6216\u56de\u907f\u3002\u9664\u4e86\u5b66\u4e60\u63a5\u53d7\u8d1f\u9762\u60f3\u6cd5\u548c\u60c5\u7eea\u4e4b\u5916,\u8fd9\u4e2a\u7ec3\u4e60\u5728\u5efa\u7acb\u5c0f\u7ec4\u51dd\u805a\u529b\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u51cf\u5c11\u7ec4\u5458\u4eec\u7684\u5bf9\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u8bc4\u5224\u975e\u5e38\u6709\u6548\u529b--\u7ec4\u5458\u4eec\u8ba4\u4e3a\u81ea\u5df1\u6ca1\u80fd\u63a7\u5236\u6216\u8005\u6d88\u9664\u90a3\u4e9b\u8d1f\u9762\u7684\u60f3\u6cd5\u548c\u611f\u53d7\u800c\u4f1a\u5bf9\u4e8e\u81ea\u5df1\u4ea7\u751f\u8bc4\u5224\u3002<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"page-break-before\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>ACE Processes ACE\u6d41\u7a0b<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Acceptance <\/strong><strong>\u63a5\u7eb3<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Defusion <\/strong><strong>\u89e3\u79bb<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Empathy &amp; Compassion <\/strong><strong>\u540c\u7406\u5fc3<\/strong><strong>\u4e0e\u607b\u9690\u5fc3<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Key Learning Points \u5b66\u4e60\u8981\u70b9<\/strong><\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>We all experience challenging situations that evoke <strong>negative thoughts and feelings<\/strong>. Further, it is natural and being human that we all try our best to <strong>cope <\/strong>with them.\r\n<span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u6211\u4eec\u90fd\u7ecf\u5386\u8fc7\u4e00\u4e9b\u80fd\u591f\u5f15\u8d77\u6211\u4eec\u6d88\u6781\u60f3\u6cd5\u548c\u611f\u53d7\u7684\u56f0\u96be\u5904\u5883\u3002\u800c\u5c3d\u529b\u5e94\u5bf9\u5b83\u4eec\u662f\u4eba\u7c7b\u7684\u81ea\u7136\u5929\u6027\u3002<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li>While coping strategies can be helpful and some coping actions such as problem solving or getting help are inherently beneficial, the <strong>negative feelings <\/strong>can <strong>persist<\/strong>.\r\n<span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u5c3d\u7ba1\u5e94\u5bf9\u7b56\u7565\u53ef\u80fd\u4f1a\u6709\u6240\u5e2e\u52a9\uff0c\u5c31\u50cf\u89e3\u51b3\u95ee\u9898\u6216\u5bfb\u6c42\u5e2e\u52a9\u7b49\u4e00\u4e9b\u5e94\u5bf9\u63aa\u65bd\u672c\u8eab\u5c31\u662f\u6709\u76ca\u7684\uff0c\u4f46<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u8d1f\u9762\u60c5\u7eea\u53ef\u80fd\u8fd8\u4f1a\u7ee7\u7eed<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u5b58\u5728\u3002<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li>If we spend all our efforts in <strong>coping <\/strong>and <strong>avoiding <\/strong>our negative feelings, it can completely <strong>drain<\/strong> us, and our life will all be about coping, <strong>increasing our suffering<\/strong>.\r\n<span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u5982\u679c\u6211\u4eec\u628a\u6240\u6709\u7684\u52aa\u529b\u90fd\u82b1\u5728<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u5904\u7406\u548c\u56de\u907f<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u8d1f\u9762\u60c5\u7eea\u4e0a\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u7cbe\u529b\u5c31\u4f1a\u88ab<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u8017\u5149<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\uff0c\u800c\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u5c06\u5168\u90fd\u662f\u5728\u706d\u706b\uff0c\u8fd9\u6837\u6211\u4eec\u7684<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u75db\u82e6\u4f1a\u589e\u52a0<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u3002<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li>One <strong>alternative<\/strong> is to <strong>observe <\/strong>and <strong>accept <\/strong>these negative feelings and thoughts <strong>mindfully<\/strong>, i.e., neither being consumed by them nor struggling against them, such as suppressing them or running away from them.\r\n<span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u53e6\u4e00\u79cd\u9009\u62e9\u662f<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u4e13\u6ce8\u5730\u89c2\u5bdf<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u548c<\/span><strong style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u63a5\u53d7<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: initial;font-size: 1em\">\u8fd9\u4e9b\u8d1f\u9762\u7684\u611f\u53d7\u548c\u60f3\u6cd5\uff0c\u65e2\u4e0d\u88ab\u4ed6\u4eec\u6d88\u8017\u4e5f\u4e0d\u4e0e\u4ed6\u4eec\u4f5c\u6597\u4e89\uff0c\u6bd4\u5982\uff0c\u53bb\u538b\u5236\u5b83\u4eec\u6216\u56de\u907f\u5b83\u4eec\u3002<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Materials \u6559\u5b78\u7528\u5177<\/strong><\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Each participant\u2019s own chair, which must be movable\r\n\u6bcf\u540d\u53c2\u4e0e\u8005\u9700\u8981\u4e00\u628a\u53ef\u4ee5\u642c\u52a8\u7684\u6905\u5b50\u3002<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Instructions &amp; Sample Script \u8bf4\u660e\u548c\u793a\u8303\u6587\u7a3f<\/strong><\/span>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>Introduction - \u201cHave you ever encountered a difficulty or challenging event? So, this exercise encourages us to be non-judgemental about these coping strategies when we are talking about their function in eliminating negative feelings. There need not be any judgment here. One by one, each participant describes a bit about their own life event, get up, place their own chair representing their coping strategy around the centre chair, return to their original spot, and remain standing. Eventually, all participants will be standing in a circle around a cluster of chairs in the centre. The participants are guided to notice that none of the chairs representing coping strategies have eliminated the centre chair representing the unwanted feelings, and paradoxically, they may only add chaos and contribute to the imposing nature of the centre chair. The resulting pile of chairs in the centre forms the \u201cChair Sculpture of Suffering.\u201d After further debriefing, the participants retrieve their own chair and reseat themselves in a circle. They are guided to look at the single remaining chair representing unwanted negative feelings in the centre and become aware that this observational stance represents mindful acceptance of our feelings, without fused engagement or avoidance. So, this exercise encourages us to be non-judgemental about these coping strategies when we are talking about their function in eliminating negative feelings. There need not be any judgment here.
