POLICIES","rendered":"FIRE POLICIES"},"content":{"raw":"<div class=\"fire-policies\">\r\n<h2><strong>LIVE FLAME POLICY<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"import-Normal\" style=\"margin-left: 5pt\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Always try to use a realistic <strong>FAKE <\/strong>flame whenever possible<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Alternatives to live flame must always be researched and encouraged as part of the production process<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p class=\"import-BodyText\" style=\"margin-left: 5pt\">To use a live flame is forbidden on stage unless:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>It is a candle sized flame that enters the acting area in an enclosed, non-combustible container<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A candle size flame is lit and then placed into an enclosed, non-combustible container in view of the audience<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p class=\"import-BodyText\" style=\"margin-left: 5pt\">For either to happen the following must be present:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A stage technician is assigned to be on fire watch for when the live flame is used<\/li>\r\n \t<li>They must be able to see the flame at all time<\/li>\r\n \t<li>If not possible, more than one crew member is assigned to fire watch detail so the flame is always in someone\u2019s unobstructed view<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The fire watch crew must be holding a fire extinguisher at all times<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The container used:<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Must not allow flame to escape<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Containers should be about 2 inches taller than the flame when the candle is lit<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The candle must be attached to the bottom of the container If not possible:<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A hurricane shapes glass should be used, which will keep the candle in the container if dropped<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Or a tall enough container that the candle cannot escape when dropped<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A heavy based container is best, so if the glass is dropped there is a better likelihood the glass will remain upright<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Shatter-proofing of the container is still required to be completed<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A container with wet sand must be present on both sides of the stage<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>An ash tray with KY \u2013 Jelly (water-based) on stage to put the match or cigarette in after use in the scene<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Fire exits must be clear, assessable and clearly marked for audience to use if needed<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>All costume pieces worn by actors who may be at risk of a flame accident must be treated with flame retardant.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>All set piece that come within 5 feet of the fire source must be fire proofed<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Presetting the lit flame is left till the last possible minute<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A live flame is not left unattended<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A live flame is extinguished as soon as the scene allows<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p class=\"import-Heading7\" style=\"text-align: center;margin-left: 8.800000000000001pt;margin-right: 9.75pt\">BEFORE LIVE FLAME CAN BE
