Maternal Newborn
This Maternal Newborn section includes 3 virtual gaming simulations and 1 teaching module:
- Prenatal Nursing Care
- Labour & Delivery Nursing Care
- Postpartum Nursing Care
- Newborn Care (teaching module only)
1. Prenatal Nursing Care
This game examines the role of the nurse in preconception and prenatal care, including physical assessment and preconception counselling. The normal maternity care of a healthy pregnancy is explored, as well as the abnormal variating in the pregnancy progression related to the mother and fetus.

2. Labour & Delivery Nursing Care
This game promotes the application of knowledge and skills related to assessment and interventions of a woman in labour. This labour and delivery scenario is based on a low-risk pregnancy.
Labour & Delivery Nursing Care (Game 2)
3. Postpartum Nursing Care
This game will highlight important components of a comprehensive postpartum assessment to ensure a safe recovery during the first six weeks after delivery. It will address the physiological and psychological changes a woman may experience during the postpartum period.

4. Newborn Care
This module introduces the learner to the role of the nurse and essential care required for the newborn. Competent care, therapeutic communication, and continuous critical thinking are required for a comprehensive newborn assessment.
Note: there is no newborn care virtual simulation in this series.
