Support for grief and bereavement is considered a component of an integrated palliative approach to care

Nurse practitioners can promote their own and other staff’s wellbeing through:

  • Organizing huddles
  • Reflective debriefing
  • Grief and bereavement support for residents, staff and care partners can include:
  • Dignity walk and quilt
  • Memory tree
  • Room blessing
  • Butterfly symbol
