105 4.2.1 Implementing NP Models of Care in LTC Practice

IMPLEMENTING NP MODELS OF CARE INTO LTC PRACTICE

NPs must identify various factors that may influence the adoption and/or implementation of the program/intervention and its effectiveness in practice.

Examples of two frameworks to assist with promoting evidence-based practice are included below:

PARIHS (Promoting Action on Research Implementation in Health Services):

●Examines the interactions between three key elements for knowledge translation
●Three factors determine research use:
●Evidence
●Context
●Facilitation

CFIR (Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research):

•Utilized in research in health care settings
•Promotes consistent use of constructs, systemic analysis & organization of findings
•Research must critique the framework & publish recommendations to improve [1][2]
