The first step of implementing the PEPPA Framework is to define the population and current model of care. Apply the PEPPA Framework in a step-wise approach through the following:

• Define population and current model of care
• Identify stakeholders and recruit participants
• Determine need for new model of care
• Identify priority problems and goals to improve model of care
• Define new model of care and APN role
• Plan implementation strategies
• Initiate APN role implementation plan
• Evaluate APN role and new model of care
• Long term monitoring of APN role and model of care^[1][2]
