123 5.2.2 Leading: Research and Quality Improvment

An Evidence Based Approach is a problem-solving approach to clinical decision-making supported by review of available evidence such as research, clinical expertise, and individual values to improve outcomes for individuals, groups or systems.[1]

HSO[2] recommends that LTC leaders have dedicated resources for quality improvement activities through formation of quality improvement teams and supported with protected time, resources, and information systems to collect the data needed to implement quality improvement activities.
