    • Distinguish between different types of memory
    • Describe the processes involved in encoding memories
    • Reflect on your own memories, past and present, in understanding the types of things that day-to-day life requires of young children’s memory capacity
    • Explain how sociocultural mechanisms of memory development are informed by the environment and relationships young children experience
    • Address bias and assumptions around the role of memory in children’s learning by considering cross-cultural evidence
