16 3.2: Expressions of Racism in Dietetics

In the field of dietetics, racism manifests in various forms, impacting both the profession and the individuals it serves. Understanding these expressions of racism is crucial for recognizing and addressing systemic inequities in nutrition and dietetic practice.

The four expressions of racism—structural/systemic, institutional, interpersonal, and internalized—illustrate how racism is upheld across societal, organizational, relational, and personal dimensions.
