Amy Desjarlais Closing

Amy Desjarlais Closing

In her closing, guest knowledge keeper Amy Desjarlais reflected on the importance of relationship building and sustaining connections with Indigenous communities.

She emphasized the importance of knowledge transmission in Indigenous communities as it applies to advancing Indigenous data sovereignty (IDSov) through the digitization of the stories gathered in research as well as the stewardship and preservation of this knowledge.

She also noted the significance of dialogue around IDSov to the processes of truth and reconciliation and the decolonization of academia (Desjarlais, 2022).
