Participant Roles 2021
Participant Roles 2021
Workshop participants were asked to identify their professional status roles when registering for the workshop. Possible roles included: undergraduate student, graduate student, faculty member, staff member, Indigenous organization, or Other. The option selection of other allowed participants to elaborate on their work/positions and detail their role when it did not correspond with the listed roles.
The workshop was attended by twenty faculty members and fourteen graduate students. Six of the participants in attendance belonged to an Indigenous organization. The eight participants who identified themselves as belonging to the other category occupied higher education positions like academics (e.g., Dean, Ph.D. candidate, Vice-Provost, etc.). In addition, there were two participants who self-identified as staff members.
Identifying roles allowed for a deeper understanding of participant perspectives and adding to the overall analysis of the overarching themes discussed by participants during the workshop.
